ICYMI: This weekend saw thousands descend on the sun-soaked grass blanketing SF’s Mission Dolores Park for the 16th Hunky Jesus competition.
Easter Sunday in San Francisco is a rather secular happening; one could even say it’s (welcomingly) blasphemous. Conservative news outlets — like F*x N*ws — took the clickbait (“bait” here in a quite literal sense), attempting to besmirch the celebrated contest/happening/day of inclusivity.

“A man dressed as ‘Jesus Ken’ won this year’s ‘Hunky Jesus’ contest,” the digital eyesore published, mentioning that on his back was “a poem filled with Biblical references and sexual innuendos.” (That’s called high-brow creative writing, babes.)
The mind-numbing outlet, of course, focused on California Senator Scott Weiner’s allyship with the queer community —”[The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence] do this every year, it’s such a service to the community […] this event, every year, triggers the right-wing extremists.”
“It triggers them and you are so beautiful,” he continued. “So let’s hear it for triggering the right-wing extremists!”
And triggered — poked, prodded, agitated, lured — they were.
